Why do so many sites take forever to build AND why do 1/3 never make it online?

Simply put, overwhelm. There’s so much to do from writing good copy, to creating nice visuals, to handling the technical stuff – it can take forever and a day.

There’s so much to learn. You probably have a few handy skills, but to learn everything to build great site will take forever.

Not to mention the other failure-to-launch gremlins to fend off like procrastination, perfectionism, writer’s block and shiny-object syndrome.

After all that, you still need a good website strategy or else you’ll create another useless website. Yipes!

And sad to say, hiring a web designer rarely helps because they don’t know marketing or coaching. So again, you end up with a site that doesn’t work – only this time you flush thousands down the toilet. Double yipes!

In this course, you get all the steps you need to build a client-attracting website without getting bogged down.

explain coach website

… and why do 90% that do make it online never bring a single client?

teach coaching website

So, even if you do survive the trials of building your website, you’re still not in the clear. To have a winning website, it needs to bring in clients. And to do this, you need a good strategy.

Most websites don’t work because they are boring, they are confusing, and talk too much about how coaching works – which clients never really “get” and isn’t all that exciting either.

What clients really want is help overcoming challenges, making positive changes, and realizing great futures. They want a coach who they know, like and trust to help them do that.

And so, your website needs a rock-solid strategy behind it to grab attention, engage people, win their trust, inspire them, and motivate them to take action to contact you for coaching.

In this course, you get those strategies.

How the course works

people working on websites

Instead of a fixed classroom hours, you get short online lessons you can do in an hour in your spare time.

Lessons have videos, writing exercises, diagrams, examples, and more. Just go one by one until you’re done.

You get access to a private Facebook group of students where we share our work and get handy feedback.

I will be with you every step of the way with gentle hand-holding, technical support, office hours, and more.

The Core Message Exercise is a hit with students

While your website is something you need to personally like, remember, that the person it needs to impress is your potential client. It must engage them, excite them and motivate them to contact you.

And so, one of the first things you’ll do in the course is craft your compelling core message. And from this juicy write-up, the rest of your website will flourish.

“You helped me make my core message super compelling – one new client fell to tears of joy when she read my website.” ~ Mary Franz

How Jenny and Graeme got clients with the same website you can make in this course.

Jenny got 2 leads and her website wasn’t even finished yet.

Earlier this year, 2015, I ran a small group of three coaches through the very course you’re doing. The only difference is that I did the website building. Midway through the project, one coach, Jenny Rawlings, who you’ll hear about inside the course, got a lead from her site. We were like, Woah!

Then she got another lead – and one signed up as paying. We weren’t even done with her website yet. I wasn’t too surprised as I’ve seen this happen before. Clients really appreciate good content and exciting calls-to-action. It makes you look like a pro.

Jenny’s site is exactly what we’re creating in this course.

Graeme got 5 new clients by accident with his website.

It was April 2014, and I was in New Zealand for the second time, when Graeme messaged me that we (meaning me hehe) accidentally sent out the wrong email at the wrong time. We (meaning him hehe) got a bunch of responses from subscribers who wanted to hire him.

He simply couldn’t say no, added five new clients that month, upped his rates, reduced hours, and eventually hired another coach to help out. There are plenty of clients out there who need help and they will thank the heavens when they discover you.

Graeme’s website uses the strategy in this course. We enhanced it by adding articles, building traffic, and rowing his list (which are topics outside this course).

What students are saying …

I love this course! It’s a powerful combination of everything a coach needs to build an awesome site. The technical is accessible and user friendly. The marketing is beautifully organized in smaller, doable, logical bits.

One of the things I enjoyed the most is having Kenn actively inspire with deadline and be available for anything that comes up for is individually. I am happy and excited I chose to create my site this way. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Wow! I got my website up in 30 days. I had been struggling for months trying to get something on WP. I considered paying someone thousands but Kenn came along and showed me, step by step, how to do it myself. Which was awesome because now I have control of all the design and content at my fingertips.

Kenn made something so complicated, so easy. The support from Kenn and our FB group has been amazing, especially with fine-tuning our core message. I am so glad I made the decision to take this course and get Kenn’s coaching package (premium). It has truly been a great business decision.

Now I can get on with helping people instead of tinkering around endlessly trying to build a website! Oh and also, I signed up my first client from my website (on a sliding scale). After her free Recovery Strategy Session, she signed up for a coaching package that day. Yay website!

~ Jen Paradise, Recovery Coach

I’m amazed I got it done so effectively! The way the lessons are arranged, designed to be done in dribs and drabs, so it really can fit in with work, family, teething 11 month olds, parents visiting from overseas, a crisis at your partners’ work, vomit etc, shopping, cleaning and cooking. I’m a teacher and I know courses and how badly they can be done… this is one of the good ones – friendly, accessible, easy to follow.

The interaction on FB made it a much more community affair. I really liked that we were doing a project together, it really helped keep me feeling that there was something really going on, made it so much more ‘real’.

Kenn, you’ve been so supportive, positive and success oriented. You have not only my thanks, but my long suffering wife’s thanks too! 🙂 My site is finally done and done well.

My website was built in 30 days! Got to LOVE that!

The success was a due to … (1) short, instructive videos that I could watch, pause and replicate; (2) a SPECIFIC launch date I committed to and was held accountable to finish and POSTED in FB; (3) fabulous rewards by Kenn for timely completion; (4) Kenn’s support by FB, email, posted hours, and he even jumped into my site to get me unstuck and (5) the 1:1 phone times with Kenn to help me make my core message super compelling – one new client fell to tears of joy when she read my website.

I now have a website that is fresh, modern and simple. But the real amazing thing was that within two weeks after launching, I got an invitation to speak, 2 more paying clients, and new referral source. Thanks Kenn!

I LOVE this course! When I saw that Kenn was offering this course, I jumped on it! It is what I have been wanting and needing for awhile now.

Kenn makes is easy, fun and the video steps are very clear. Kenn’s personality is so real. I can tell he wants the best for all of us when it comes to a great website. Kenn was always there to answer any questions and help when needed. I can appreciate that.

And the fb group…how nice that everyone is so supportive. It’s just really a good one! That’s all.

Well…my goal was January 1 but I actually finished 12 days early! Yay! What a great feeling of knowing that I did this myself.  The only problem was that I didn’t want to stop working on it!

Thanks Kenn for making this course “spot on” just what I needed. Not only was this great for me, but I know for a fact that my clients (new coaches) are going to love it as well.

I have to say that the class was AMAZING! I signed up for the Premium edition and it was SO worth it. How far I have come in 5 weeks is amazing.

What did I like about the course? (1) It was so well organized and linear in process – one step at a time. It was never overwhelming especially for those of us not at all technically inclined. (2) Kenn was a great guide, enthusiastic and accessible always – even though he is down under. (3) The support of the FB crew was invaluable for feedback.

Thanks SO much, Kenn, for all of your help. You rock!

I had procrastinated building my website for months until I found your site! Then, after reading many of your blog posts and articles and after receiving your invitation, I chose to enroll – and I was literally at the point of paying someone to do my website for me too.

The lessons were straightforward and easy to follow, your support was always available be it for feedback, IT issues or getting a little clarity on content.

I launched my website in 30 days as you promised 😀. Seriously from start to finish in 1 month! Kenn, you really helped me see the goal and helped me maintain focus on it. I’m so super excited and I thank you immensely.

Common Questions

Who is this course ideal for? It’s for coaches who need to seriously get their marketing going, who feel overwhelmed, who want an authentic, non-salesy website they can be proud of, and your primary objective now is to finding more clients (the website strategy is based on this goal). You also needn’t be a techie geek, a novel writer or brilliant artist either.

Who is this course NOT for? It’s not for the the complete technophobe who can’t send an email or buy a book online. While you do’t It’s not for those who want an overnight, get-rich-quick scheme either – as this stuff takes time and work (but a lot less if you take this course).

Can I have someone else do it for me?  Yes. Easy. Simply enroll and let your designer do the lessons while you do the writing steps. Others have done it this way just fine.

How do you handle questions during the course? There’s technical support, a private Facebook group, office hours each week, and 1-on-1 help if you choose the premium option. I’m right here with help and plenty of patience 😉

Will this be a good course if I have never built a website before? If you’re comfortable using computers, emailing, using Facebook and shopping online, then you’ll be fine. Just jump in and give it a go.

How long is the course on for? It’s an online course so you can finish in your own time. However, if you choose the full or premium options, you will be challenge to choose your own launch date and hit it. Many launch in a short 2-3 weeks 🙂

What about online marketing, SEO or blogging? This course is for building a great website. Marketing, social media, and other traffic building strategies are outside the scope of this course. Right now, it’s about swiftly creating a great website you’d be excited to share with the world.

What if I get sick or life gets in the way? Then I pray for your speedy recovery and if the busyness takes over, I recommend you (1) take a good hard look at how you spend your time and (2) make some courageous decisions to refocus on what matters most.

What’s not included in the course? We won’t get into PayPal buttons, scheduling software or client-management because they aren’t necessary right now. Once you’ve got plenty of leads coming in, you can get those in place.

What do I need to prepare? Nothing. But a smile on your face and a calendar with space will help 😉 See where you can fit an hour every day or two or perhaps a longer block on weekends. Don’t worry about hosting, domain names, or other tech stuff yet.

Will you offer this class in the future? Maybe. At the moment, there’s nothing scheduled. If you plan to start your website within a month, then go ahead and enroll now and just start when you’re ready.

I see you’re using PayPal. Can I pay with a credit card? Yes, you can easily pay with a credit card and you don’t have to have or use your PayPal account. Here’s how you do it in a short video.

I rekindled my childhood passion of creating on computers when I left my comfy corporate job back in 2001.

While escaping torturous, three-hour commutes and creativity-killing cubicle life, the new adventure as a hip web designer brought its own challenge – a little monster called marketing.

With much trial, toil and tinkering, I figured out how to consistently get great clients (coaches of course), work from anywhere, and earn a good income doing the work I love.

    Thanks Kenn

Like the look of both new sites – I am guessing hat if extra pages / content is needed it can be linked to from the home page? And/or can you add another ‘stander’ menu item that allows deeper navigation?

Are you able to share the name of the theme you have used – it is, as you say, modern, clean and easy to follow.

    Cheers Mark

PS The (www.choiceworks.com.au) website is not yet live – spend much of my working time helping to develop/populate these two tho: http://www.qorf.org.au and http://www.visioningtheoutdoors.com

    • Kenn Schroder October 17, 2015 at 7:51 am #

Hi Mark. Fantabulous question. Thanks for asking.

Yes, very easy to take things to the next level with adding more pages, longer.

I’ll update the sales page for this course, which I’m revealing next week.

I would, for most coaches, avoid a second menu because of the complexity it adds is almost never worth it.

Huge sites like Amazon.com and Facebook – ok, multiple menus for different purposes.

    • Kenn Schroder October 17, 2015 at 7:58 am #

Oh, and as for the theme it’s Divi by Elegant Themes. That’s my affiliate link which keeps me caffeinated long enough to get sites done. 😉

I see your sites, neat. Looks like fun.

Anything else you’d love to see in the course?

I’m gonna hangout with some coaches on Monday and Tuesday midday to chat about the course, get some quick feedback and put some finishing touches on it before releasing it.

How to transition to a coaching site feels daunting to me. One step at a time. Your expertise is so helpful! Thanks for all you do! ~Kelli

    • Kenn Schroder October 17, 2015 at 4:57 pm #

Thanks Kelli … “daunting” … a great word for it. This course was designed to remove that.

What aspects are MOST daunting? Hauntingly daunting?

      • Kelli October 17, 2015 at 5:48 pm #

lol, very! For me, the “hauntingly daunting” include:
        1. Switching or merging the domains. Unsure how to move this forward.
        2. Setting up MailChimp so that subscribers receive posts directly in a nice email instead of through WordPress.com.
        3. Logo and image/photo assistance/branding. As you can see, my current site is basic, which I like, but I know I need assistance with a logo, etc.
        4. Setting up a calendar app that allows potential clients to schedule calls.
        5. Setting up “Square” or a reliable payment app.
I think I can do most of this with a step-by-step approach…and time is a factor. I know that eventually I will need a VA, but do not have the cashflow right now to support one. Thanks, Kenn!

        • Kenn Schroder October 20, 2015 at 11:03 am #

Hey Kelli … some answers …

          1. Uhhh … it’s a technical thing, but it makes me wonder what the intention is. I’d say getting a good site up to help you get clients is the first step, then just direct domains there. I’d need to know more.

          2. I don’t use mailchimp … it was ultra complicated inside, and not that I couldn’t figure it out with a lot of time, why should I? AWeber is much more intuitive in my opinion. MailChimp does have a cool graphic. I had one client do it, Dina Coleman of Four Quadrant Living … she had to call support and wrestle for a while.

But even so, I recommend a very simple approach of directing people back to your site for some tracking/marketing reasons.

          3. In this course, we’ll be creating a sweet logo. DIY logo. But clean and simple, professional – not a braggable work of art. Again, clients want to trust you, like you and believe you can help them and while a logo can help brand and look great, I think there are bigger ticket items to stay focused on – content/traffic/message/action.

          4. Cool … You must have so many people contacting you that it’s a scheduling nightmare. ;P

          5. Cash flow is one thing … but even more scarce these days is … guess what? Time. I’d be more cautious of where/how I spend my time. And when it comes to building a site and getting the rigth stuff in place, it doesn’t have to take a lot of time, provided we have simple steps and stay focused on the vitals.

Uhhh … hmmm … hope this helps.

I like your voice and energy in it. Be sure to carry it through to your content writing.

          • Sonia October 20, 2015 at 11:15 am #

Kenn, I’m starting to use Mailchimp: it is relatively easy, and, although it has a lot of flaws and limitations, it’s free, thing Aweber is not.
Right now, free tools are what I need. Do you have a better free suggestion?
            Thanks.

          • Kenn Schroder October 20, 2015 at 12:05 pm #

Free is good … when the thing you get free is actually what you need now.

Even free stuff can be costly when you think about time, distraction, learning curves, bad strategy, and results you want.

Mailchimp will be your way to go then. Nothing else to recommend.

But I hear you … many coaches have super tight budgets. And so it is.

Modern-up-to- date clean looks. Simplicity is attractive. I have a contract with godaddy ..need to review the terms. Love the websites displayed. No blogs? Look forward to creating a website like you are demonstrating….sooner rather than later. Thanks.

    • Kenn Schroder October 20, 2015 at 11:05 am #

Blogs … thanks for asking Mary.

What I’ve done in the course is save blog setup as an advance tutorial (easy enough to do) and get you launched first.

A barren blog is yucky and messing around with it will cause coaches to get stuck, perfect, and never launch – bad.

But yes, blog is included. Those examples above are coaches who are working on their blogging next.

      Helpful?

  20. Marii October 17, 2015 at 5:09 pm #

Looks good Kenn, always enjoy reading your tips.

    • Kenn Schroder October 17, 2015 at 5:13 pm #

Thanks … anything special you’re hoping for in a course? Big stuck spots? Big wishes?

  21. Kenn Schroder October 17, 2015 at 5:12 pm #

Great question Mary. Some coaches want blogs, some don’t yet, and many have no content to post … want to avoid the dead site look when new blogs go up … BUT, what I’m going to do is have the core program get you online fast, with advanced modules for setting up and getting great blogs out quickly. THanks for pointing that out. Anything else?

  22. Mary Franz October 17, 2015 at 5:30 pm #

Perhaps premature….(because you are asking about our questions regarding the course)….however, when I review my godaddy account/services I see that the following have been itemized: Business Website Builder, Business email, search engine visibility, get found essential, office 365 essential. In an effort to be an astute business manager of my coaching practice dollars, I am wondering what I would need to keep or cancel…especially the 365 essential which is the office software…..oh…this is where my eyes get blurry and I do need to have a sip of wine or go play with my cat….well, I can probably multi-task.

Just trying to understand so I don’t make decisions that will jeopardize something else I absolutely need. Kind of like downloading Microsoft 10 and finding out other programs won’t be available 🙁 !

    Thanks Kenn.

    • Kenn Schroder October 17, 2015 at 5:42 pm #

Awesome question Mary. Thanks for sharing it.

So it sounds like you’re afraid to change something because it might jeapordize something else. Fear of change.

In my opinion, “account services” = a way to make it look more valuable than it is and stuff that is nearly useless.

If you’re not sure what you’ll jeapordize, it’s my guess you’re not even using the other stuff.

What I’ve found is that if something is “working” in your business, you know it, clearly.

What’s really the question, is what are your business goals (if getting a steady 10 clients to earn 30k, 50k or 100k, depending on your market) .. then are you focused on making THAT happen enough?

      Small stuff vs big stuff.

Great question you asked, thanks for sharing the reality of your situation.

I know it’s annoying when stuff starts to not work, but what’s worse is not getting clients.

I’d rather have 10 paying coaching clients and a windows 10 problem. Than no windows 10 problem and zero clients.

Wine and cat … pour me a glass too.

I appreciate your speaking up … these are real concerns.

  23. Mary Franz October 17, 2015 at 5:45 pm #

I’ll drink to that 🙂 Makes sense. Cheers:)

Life …. that’s it! I made this course with LIFE in mind. Short steps you can “fit in” before pedicures, just before yoga class, or with a glass of wine and the cat on your lap. 😉

      Thanks for sharing that Adianne.

I am fortunate to be working on Team Awesome with Kenn to build a Great Coaching Website. I have enjoyed working on the steps and can hardly wait for the next step because the progress is so amazing from one step to the other.

I can definitely say that the steps are easy peasy and by the end of the course you’ll have a website that you will not only be proud of yourself, but you’ll be proud to invite others to it.

Kenn’s no fuss, easy breezy coaching style makes learning fun.

    Hi Kenn,

Love what you’re doing for coaches. It’s so great to be in control of my website, by being able to make changes myself whenever I want to add something to my website. Not only do you help coaches get their website up and running, your solutions will serve us for years to come.

Thank you for what you do for coaching and coaches,

    Barb Zeigler

    • Kenn Schroder October 26, 2015 at 12:54 pm #

Hey Barb … always great to hear from you.

And thanks for recently telling me about some of your clients who spend hundreds on their designers to make small updates. It’s a great reminder of the cost savings if you can manage your own site.

  32. vernelle October 26, 2015 at 3:02 pm #

    Hi Kenn,
Awesome Work! For my new page I created with you from the video, I created a landing page for my digital course on coursecraft that has it’s own landing page. How do I send people to the coursecraft landing page to sign up from the email optin page on my website landing page? If this makes sense?

    • Kenn Schroder October 26, 2015 at 3:29 pm #

Hey Vernelle, we’ll take this question off line. But you’re really soaring off on your magical jet like wonder woman. 😉

  33. vernelle October 26, 2015 at 9:06 pm #

Yeah go big or go home Kenn that’s my motto. The time is now! My new website is really giving me new inspiration. Thanks to your wisdom.

  34. Jen October 27, 2015 at 8:13 am #

Looks like you’re putting together a great program to get our website up! This of course is the first step of getting clients. Will this course or future courses help us focus on getting more clients from on-line efforts? I’m really interested in your client success stories of those who increased business by working with you. I’ve had websites up in the past and they just didn’t draw in new clients. What will make this (or a future program you offer) different? Thanks!

    • Kenn Schroder October 27, 2015 at 8:26 am #

Yes Jen. Your website is a PIECE of the puzzle so to speak.

Congrats on getting online. So many coaches never make it online because they are overwhelmed, stuck on content, technology and various other blockers. Then if they do get online, they have boring content and clunky sites without client-attraction tools.

I love your questions about “getting more clients online” and this course helps coaches overcome website challenges including (1) struggling to get online (2) not having the right tools in place and (3) content focused on the wrong things.

The course does NOT go into other matters like how to close a client on the phone or networking in social media, or into search engine optimization – as those are pretty huge.

The other half of the coaches who are asking me for help are already online but want to build traffic, grow their list, and generate more leads … and I have my eye on a course for that.

Client success stories … great question. I will add a few above in the next few days.

Really quickly, one client got new leads while her site was in development.
Another can readily get more from his email list (website system) we set up.
And more stories but those are simple nice ones that illustrate.

I’ll post them in next few days.

Where’s your site or past one? Let’s have a look.

  35. Jen October 27, 2015 at 8:34 am #

Thanks, Ken. I appreciate your great response. My previous sites where coaching sites that I’ve taken down. I like that you are planning to develop a marketing/growing your coaching practice online course later. I’m also looking forward to the blogging course as I think that’s an important piece for me. Well, I can’t wait to get started! When will you announce the cost of the course so we can budget for it? I love your approach. Simple steps that move us forward.

    Thanks,

    Jen

    • Kenn Schroder October 27, 2015 at 12:18 pm #

      Hey Jen. Great question.

I’ve notice these common themes in getting a site up:

      1. Pay nothing, do overnight builder, and end up with a sad template, weak content, and poor site strategy (no client-attraction tools).
      2. Pay few hundred, to it themselves, never get it done due to stuck in process, tech, content, perfectionism, shiny object syndrome, … more and their coaching biz sits around for months to years.
      3. They hire a VA for $500-$1000 and make a mess because no help in content, site strategy and just poor design. Sites end up useless.
      4. The hire a designer for thousands and the designer disappears, or content is a mess, and the site is not useful, again due to poor strategy.

The ones that do succeed, get a decent site strategy in place (good functionality), content aimed at the visitors/clients, and a clean simple site design. In which case it matters less what they pay, if they do it themselves, or hire someone.

And I have seen WordPress courses run from free to hundreds, but no content or strategy for coaches. And then coaches get lost forever in messing around with their site. Someone recently told me it became a “vanity project” hehe.

So, my aim is somewhere to serve the stuck coach, going to DIY or debating it, their biz is stuck because their site isn’t in place. Stuck on content, tech, visuals. They want to get online with a site they can both be proud of and that they can use to attract clients.

Given all of that … I want a simple way to help more coaches do well and not make a mess. 😉

So I can give them the steps to do it without wasting time, orderly steps, guide them on content, give them the power to do their own site, update it in the future (say if their biz evolves).

I see it like this: make a mess, waste months and thousands, pull your hair out, and watch your coaching dreams fade, or jump in, have some fun, learn how to do it well.

Sadly, a few limitations due to me being, contrary to popular belief, human and thus require sleeping, eating and hugs …

I will announcing it to my email list first (the hard core troopers!)
so be sure you’re on the list to not miss the opening.

I’m finalizing the offer and it looks like this …

      1. There will be limited spaces: 20-25

      2. Tutorials, videos, various support options (coaching, fb group, more)
and possibly a 30-day challenge (seeing this might add fun).

      3. Enrollment is next Tues. It ends on the 5th, Thrs.

      4. Fee $600-$1200 with monthly payment option.

Plus, full refund if it don’t work out, my aim is that this is more than worth it of course (why else should we help people?)

Let me put more material up above … thanks for asking … really.

You know, Kenn, we haven’t (yet) worked directly together, but I did buy your book and devoured it, and you’ve also offered great advice in our common LinkedIn group for coaches. You were absolutely a big part of my learning and success with my web design and copy.

I am interested in the course but currently, I am taking courses on biblical counselling, coaching, writing a book. Too tight for me this round.

Thanks for the good work. Hope that’s a rerun next year.

    Blessings,

    • Kenn Schroder November 5, 2015 at 8:04 am #

No plans at the moment as I may do a traffic building course or other. Another option is to use the blogs here (free) and/or get the coaching website guide ($97) and follow along in there.

But stick around on my list for updates.

  41. Darren Townsend-Handscomb November 5, 2015 at 4:39 pm #

    Hi Ken,

you asked for feedback if not taking up your offer. So the main reasons are: a) I use Weebly, don’t want to switch to WordPress. b) Even if you are completely right, there is a particular ‘look’ to the ‘offer’ websites that I really don’t like. As a customer, if I see them I’m gone. This may be a Brit thing? And it may be that I’m completely wrong. Especially given that I agree with a lot of the principles you discuss. Cheers darren (PS website is a campaign website that I’ve built, rather than a coaching one, that I’ve not yet built …)

    • Kenn Schroder November 5, 2015 at 6:00 pm #

Hi Darren … thanks for chiming in.

Yes, I know funds can be tough. I should create a mini ebook or course on making a Weebly website for coaches. Maybe you and I can create that at a future time.

  42. Vernelle November 9, 2015 at 12:05 pm #

Did steps 11 and 12, as easy as they promised to be. Your formula for getting good success stories was very, helpful. Made my work so much easier.

  43. Carol Leek November 14, 2015 at 3:59 pm #

I can appreciate that. My clients are already asking about it and want in on the next go round. What a great resource for me to have in my business. And the fB group…how nice that everyone is so supportive. It’s just really a good one! That’s all.

    • Kenn Schroder November 14, 2015 at 5:10 pm #

Thanks for sharing that Carol. Glad to have you course. You’ve got a positive, enthusiastic energy that’s great to be around.

  44. Mitzi November 25, 2015 at 6:10 pm #

About half way through my course (i signed up for the premium edition) and I am very impressed by how the whole things work. It is literally step by step (which I love) and the combination of audio and video works greatl. Kenn is very enthusiastic and supportive as well, which is helpful. I will let you know how the rest of the course goes but so far its excellent!

    • Kenn Schroder November 25, 2015 at 8:09 pm #

Great! Loving your copy Mitzi. Such life to it.

  45. mary November 26, 2015 at 12:09 am #

I’m in Kenn’s Building a Great Coaching Website on WordPress NOW. I’m scheduled to launch Dec. 2. Love the lessons with Kenn’s video display and have on more than one occasion been AMAZED at how Kenn’s explanations are so perceptive. He knows his stuff and his clientele’s (that’s me!) “struggles” and has addressed those struggles in the lessons. He is also available outside of the lessons through FB, email and designated “office hours”. There are one to one calls as well that inspire and challenge. I like that. I wanted a clean, modern website and as a bonus (big bonus) I am creating a unique coaching message that gives the reader a good idea of what coaching with me is like. Kenn provides the blueprint and what can I say…..I love finishing a lesson, posting the material created and then pushing ” View Site”. There’s that sweet second of wondering, “did it turn out right?”. Fun! So cool…and if it isn’t right, I can try again…and if needed, Kenn will make the necessary fixes. I’m so glad I signed up!

    • Kenn Schroder November 26, 2015 at 7:25 pm #

      Thanks for sharing that Mary.

I’m reminded of two things as I read your message.

1 – How rewarding it is to be of help to others who are stuck.
2 – How very good testimonials/success stories read in a very “stream of consciousness”, real way. A good reminder as we all grow our marketing muscles.

      Thanks for the positive words.

  46. Kerry November 28, 2015 at 9:48 am #

Initially, I thought this course was too good to be true. Having little confidence in my website-building skills, I had hired someone to build my first site. Wanting something that was completely me that I could change as I desired, I took the plunge. Boy, am I glad I did! Kenn has made website-building possible–and fun! The support and feedback offered is invaluable! I highly recommend this course!!

    • Kenn Schroder November 28, 2015 at 5:19 pm #

Thanks for sharing your mid-way experience Kerry. I suspect you are enjoying the inspirational “you can do it” videos. 😉

  47. Jen December 7, 2015 at 5:42 am #

This course was AWESOME. I am so excited that I got my website up in 30 days. Wow. I had been struggling with my website for months trying to get something on WP. I considered paying someone thousands to do it for me. Then Kenn came along and showed me step by step how to do it myself. Which was awesome because now I have control of all the design and content at my fingertips. Kenn made something so complicated, so easy. The support from Kenn and our FB group has been amazing, especially with fine-tuning our core message. I am so glad I made the decision to take this course and get Kenn’s coaching package. It has truly been a great business decision. Thank you, Kenn, for building a simple, easy to follow course designed specifically for coaches and service oriented people!!! Now I can get on with helping people instead of tinkering around endlessly trying to build a website!

    • Kenn Schroder December 7, 2015 at 2:20 pm #

      Yabba dabba doo!!!

You really embraced the course, asked great questions with “getting clients” in mind, and engaged others to get your message down on paper. Nice work Jen. I really appreciate your efforts and can’t wait to see more unfold for you.

Jen’s works with people struggling with addictions, especially rebel and misfit types. SHe helps you become “addiction proof” and “end the struggle for good” … she’s at http://www.gracedrecovery.com.

Can everyone see how easy it is to remember and refer Jen when her message is quite clear?

  48. Jennifer December 9, 2015 at 12:25 am #

Love the way you show your students websites in progress and describe the aspects you like.

I have just looked through Jen Paradise’s website and wow it’s fantastic, beautiful engaging colours, great fun, ‘no worries’ font – approachable professionalism came across – thank you for sharing

    • Kenn Schroder December 9, 2015 at 8:54 pm #

Thanks for the positive words Jennifer. She did it all herself – with the course as the basis of “course”. But yeah, as much as this stuff is “old hat to me”, it’s awesome to see the colors, fonts, personality, core message, functionality quickly come together. Just great!

  49. Mary Franz December 9, 2015 at 10:41 pm #

What did I love about this course? I finished it!! My website was built in 30 days! Got to LOVE that….and here’s the combination of reasons for success: 1) short, instructive videos that I could watch, pause and replicate; 2) a SPECIFIC date I committed to finish and POSTED in FB; 3) a promised counter challenge by Kenn with fabulous rewards for launching at the specified date; 4) Kenn’s availability by FB, email and posted hours to respond to issues as well as his super willingness to go into my website when I was stuck and “solve the problem” (the “cool dude” at work) and 5) the 1:1 phone times with Kenn who did some pretty effective challenging that worked (like take the next 15 minutes and send a text/email to three clients and ask for feedback about your core message or post a rough draft on FB and ask for group feedback!)
The combination WORKED!! I have a website that is fresh, modern and simple. Super value. Thanks Kenn.

    • Kenn Schroder December 9, 2015 at 10:52 pm #

You kicked butt Mary. Yeah, thanks for taking on the challenge and getting it done. That was something huh?

We should also mention that since you finished quite timely, we did some simple outreach and what? We got an invitation to speak, two possible clients (referrals), and there was something else too right? Maybe just some excitement in seeing things start to unfold. Oh, and one of those referrals, she nearly went to tears with joy at your core message? Or like tears of hope?

  50. Mitzi Wilso December 10, 2015 at 8:41 pm #

Ok here I am. It’s December 10 and I have launched my website. Feels good!

I have to say that the class was AMAZING. I signed up for the Premium edition and it was SO worth it. How far I have come in 5 weeks is amazing.

What did I like about the course?
    1. It was so well organized and linear in process. One step at a time. It was never overwhelming and Kenn was a great guide, especially for those of us not at all technically inclined.
    2. Kenn was great. Enthusiastic and accessible always. Even though he is down under.
    3. The support of the FB crew was invaluable.
    4. The follow up information, for after the launch, seems like it will be very helpful (but I haven’t done it yet, so can’t confirm, but I am guessing it will be)

Thanks SO much, Kenn, for all of your help. You rock..

    • Kenn Schroder December 10, 2015 at 10:22 pm #

Awesome! Great to have you in the class Mitzi. You’ve got a fun vibe. I appreciate your efforts as well. So great. Congrats on completing the challenge as well. Nice!

What about the FB crew’s help did you find most helpful? Feedback? Tweaking? Ideas?

      Kenn

  51. Colin December 11, 2015 at 9:13 am #

Having launched a few weeks ago now, and celebrated with some brilliant grass-fed roast beef and family from overseas, I have quite a number of reflections on the course’s amazingness!

    1. Kenn. The dude is so supportive, positive and success oriented, you WILL succeed. He’ll make sure of it.
    2. The way the lessons are arranged, designed to be done in dribs and drabs, so it really can fit in with work, family, teething 11 month olds, parents visiting from overseas, a crisis at your partners’ work, vomit etc, shopping, cleaning and cooking. Looking back at it, I’m amazed I got it done so effectively! Simply put, this course can fit your life, no matter how hectic, full and crazy it might be… That’s how well designed it is.
    3. I’ve done two and a half degrees and I’m a teacher, so I know courses and how badly they can be done… this is one of the good ones, friendly, accessible, easy to follow and pretty well designed from a pedagogical perspective.
    4. The interaction on FB made it a much more community affair. I really liked that we were doing a project together, it really helped keep me feeling that there was something really going on, made it so much more ‘real’.

Kenn, you have not only my thanks, but my long suffering wife’s thanks too! 🙂 My site is finally done and done well!

    • Kenn Schroder December 13, 2015 at 8:32 pm #

I like your writing style Colin. Thanks for the positive words. Thanks again for highlighting how the lessons, the arrangement, and the chunks made it fit into your life. Thanks for the reminder about that – it’s something I take for granted, but know is critical for your (coaches) success.

And thanks everyone for the “dude” title.

  52. Alex December 11, 2015 at 9:25 am #

    Hey Kenn:

Thanks for a really terrific course experience.

I liked that it was self-paced; I was raring to go and it fit my needs perfectly. I also loved your emphasis on “done” over “perfect”. Great coaching wisdom there!

You explained things very well, and I like the Divi builder. I’m working my way through the advanced lessons at a slower pace.

The FB group was a great add-on; It made it easy to both request and give feedback. People were generous and helpful.

    • Kenn Schroder December 15, 2015 at 8:18 pm #

Thanks for that Alex. Glad to have you as a student. Done over perfect … yes.

Well…my goal was January 1 but I actually finished 12 days early! Yay! What a great feeling of knowing that I did this myself. This course was easy, fun, and I learned so much. Kenn was always there to answer any questions and help when needed. I appreciated that. The only problem was that I didn’t want to stop working on it! But, I realized that sleep is a very good thing and that I need it.

Thanks Kenn for making this course “spot on” just what I needed. Not only was this great for me, but I know for a fact that my clients (new coaches) are going to love it as well.

  54. Kerry Iannone December 31, 2015 at 4:02 pm #

Wow! What an amazing experience! With Kenn’s help and his super-helpful and simple course, I was able to create my own website that I love–and have already received great feedback on while still in the creating process. As a technologically-impaired person, I was unsure of whether I could really do this, but so wanted a site that I had created myself and that I knew would resonate with my target market. Kenn helped me do that–and then some! His encouragement along the way and assistance when I got stuck was phenomenal and greatly appreciated–especially at 1 o’clock in the morning!!

I can honestly say that this was a great investment of my time and money and one that will reap rewards in the days to come as I reach out to prospective clients with my new site. I have another website that I paid someone to create for me, and while I love it, I wanted to be able to make changes to it and update it myself. Kenn’s course allows me to do just that. I highly recommend it for every coach who wants to create and be in control of their site. It’s definitely a winner!!

    • Kenn Schroder January 5, 2016 at 2:51 am #

Good work Kerry. I like how you got the advanced background design going. Everyone, Kerry’s site is here: Kerry Iannone. AWWSUMM WORK!

  55. Mary Franz January 5, 2016 at 11:00 am #

Another NEW coaching client!! Yesterday I sent her an invitation to have a conversation with me for 30 minutes to discuss her interests and gave her my http://marycoaching.com website as my introduction. The first thing she said to me duiring our 30 minute conversation was :GREAT WEBSITE!!! THANK YOU KENN….and thanks to the Building a Great Website on WP course and fellow coaches. AND, Kenn, I’m so grateful for your experienced feedback to keep my focus narrow vs. broad!!

    • Mary Franz January 5, 2016 at 12:34 pm #

Let me be clear….Kenn’s course delivers!! It is so valuable to have a modern, engaging website that connects with readers….Kenn’s course and seasoned eyes, ears and technical mo jo was the best use of my time and money in 2015! What a great way to start 2016!!

    • Kenn Schroder January 5, 2016 at 2:36 pm #

Wahoo! Well, give yourself credit Mary, you did the work. You also took action on the challenging steps we identified. That’s courage. And thanks for the kind words. Thanks for sharing your success.

  56. Greg Curtis "Coach Curtis" January 8, 2016 at 4:38 am #

Still can’t believe it: Here we are a month later…STILL need to lose ten pounds, STILL behind in laundry, Website…DONE.

Heck, these days…any kid with a lemonade stand has a website….How about YOU?

This course is THE WAY…for ambitious coaches, with full plates, who are perfectionists…but who REALLY need to get on with it.

Somehow, with Kenn’s help….I did it, and so can YOU…

    http://www.newinspiration.org

  57. Greg Curtis "Coach Curtis" January 8, 2016 at 5:04 am #

PS …From Coach Curtis: Oh, and I’m not just leaving this course with a great new website (and some new friends)…I’m leaving with the ABILITY to forever tweak and re-create my website…just as fast as I can think it.

  58. mary January 8, 2016 at 7:38 pm #

Well, OMG, Kenn…..I just finished setting up a phone strategy session with someone who “googled” for career coaching and found my website!!! This is a huge success already…even if we don’t decide to work together…(which I hope will be a good fit and work out) This happened because he just did an internet search and decided my website had what he needed !! Major happy all over the place. Just had to share with you and like minds.

    • Kenn Schroder January 8, 2016 at 9:13 pm #

Sweet! With your brawns and my brains, the sky is the limit! 😉

  59. Charlotte Denny Henley February 4, 2016 at 2:13 pm #

Hi Kenn….. I am really enjoying the clarity and specific instructions you provide. I have struggled with making critical decisions so then i just cruise. I just posted on Facebook seeking help for what domain name to use. Having the group support is a big plus. I feel I am finally tackling the things that have always weighed me down and that is because of the clarity you request from us. Thank you.

    • Kenn Schroder February 4, 2016 at 5:36 pm #

Thanks for sharing that Charlotte. I often forget that the main reason I did this was to make it easy for you. Coaches (almost any new biz owner) gets lost in details, especially when it comes to tech stuff. Good, good, good.

  60. Laura Johnson-Baker February 10, 2016 at 2:32 am #

Hey Kenn. I’m working on my site, excited to see it come out. Just want to thank you for making the steps easy to follow. I like how you break down the process in each section. I was initially skeptical that I could meet my own deadline however through your lessons, support and feedback I’m thoroughly looking forward to my launch date. Thank you

    • Kenn Schroder February 16, 2016 at 9:45 pm #

Very welcome. Doing great with the material. I await your launch!

    • Laura Johnson-Baker February 17, 2016 at 4:50 am #

So super excited thank you immensely Kenn, I launched my website in 30 days as you promised :D.

Seriously from start to finish in 1 month!

I had procrastinated building my website for months until I found your site!

After reading many of your blog posts and articles I received your email about this course, I was literally at the point of paying someone to do my website for me however while that helped in the short term in the long term it wasn’t exactly conductive to be able to get other sites up and running.

The lessons were straightforward and easy to follow, your support was always available be it for feedback, IT issues or getting a little clarity on content. Kenn you really helped me see the goal and helped me maintain focus on it.

      • Kenn Schroder February 17, 2016 at 7:56 pm #

EXCELLENT … traffic building time and freebie creation, there are some new tutorials! (side note, I am running a special secret group to build traffic, grow lists, and generate leads). Btw, killer photos.

  61. Melissa Rebronja February 21, 2016 at 9:57 pm #

    • Kenn Schroder February 21, 2016 at 10:55 pm #

Nice wording. Wish I could write so elegantly. Thanks Melissa for the positive feedback. Fun to be there as your site evolved.

  62. Steve Garcia March 17, 2016 at 3:28 pm #

Kenn is awesome because he not only knows what we need to do, he’s broken it down into baby steps. He often will tell you, “Don’t worry about this or that right now…let’s just get you launched.” That takes pressure off. And I can’t believe how he reached out to me with Facebook messages, asking how it was going. I need that encouragement and that accountability nudge.
The fact is, I’m just doing so many things; then I get discouraged when I don’t make progress on my site.
Last week, I finally got the guts to set up some office time with Kenn. He was so helpful and easy to talk to. We came up with simple next steps I’m working on now. I won’t lie, creating a great website isn’t easy. That’s why I appreciate having someone to guide me to the finish line. This is easily the best money I’ve spent on an online course. Kenn isn’t about sales, but service, and getting you the results you want. He knows the technology, but he’s also an honest to goodness coach. This is how I want to do it.

    • Kenn Schroder March 17, 2016 at 9:24 pm #

Wow! Thanks for the kind words Steve. I appreciate your efforts. You’ve got a lot of enthusiasm that I know others will benefit from. Onward with your site and biz … 😉

  63. Mary Franz April 6, 2016 at 9:00 am #

Wow Kenn. The extras keep multiplying!!! Love the landing page info!!! Maybe I will write an ebook afterall. I launched in early Dec. 2015. Best decision to connect with your website course and of course you, the super webguy of all times 😉

    • Kenn Schroder April 6, 2016 at 4:58 pm #

Maybe we put ebook on the Web Mastery Class … “the next level” agenda … it can easily be lined up with your blogging as well so your words do double time … at the end … I personally love it when my work does triple time and more. But, yeah, take this idea to the Web Mastery Group.

  64. Mary Franz April 6, 2016 at 8:21 pm #

Love it. Will do. Triple Thanks!

  65. Annette April 8, 2016 at 9:44 am #

    Hi Kenn,

Thank you, for devising such a great course, I am about halfway through now as u know & the site is coming together well!

The course, is easy to understand even for a non-techie, like me & in bite size chunks, so that I don’t get too overwhelmed by it all!

Your help & support has also been invaluable!!

    Thanks again,

    Annette

  66. Veronica May 6, 2016 at 2:40 pm #

Great course – Kenn keeps it real, it is simple and do-able, well explained, and he is right there to support you. Great stuff!

    • Kenn Schroder May 8, 2016 at 4:08 pm #

Good speed on you Veronica. Fully embracing the “go lean” and “go live” approach an avoiding “failure to launch”, perfectionism, and shiney object syndrome. Spectacular!

  67. Veronica Miller May 21, 2016 at 6:21 am #

Kenn challenged me and I set a super tight deadline. The penalties and rewards worked like a charm! Another personal goal ticked off my list! It’s done, I feel great, and I can move onto the next thing.

The videos were good and you can easily follow along. Just watch, pause, and do.

Kenn on tap is utterly invaluable. For that alone, I’m happy to have chosen the premium option. The support, the calls, and especially the technical help with visuals filled in the gaps, and helped me move forward much, much faster. The help and encouragement are invaluable.

    Good job Kenn!

    • Kenn Schroder June 9, 2016 at 4:39 pm #

Fun calls from 8am in New Zealand to 9pm in UK. Hehe. Nice work Veronica!

  68. Lisa Lewis June 7, 2016 at 4:06 pm #

I couldn’t have done it without your course, Kenn! And the amazing part is, that it didn’t actually take that long. I’m delighted! With your short video trainings, that walked me through each step of the way AND gave me great marketing strategies to design my site better… it’s almost done and I am ready to go. I am so pleased! Thank you!

    • Kenn Schroder June 9, 2016 at 4:40 pm #

Very welcome. That was my aim in creating the course: speed (easy enough, help along the way), quality (design for client attraction, looks good), and you gain control over your site. Good work Lisa.

  69. Rachel June 19, 2016 at 4:36 pm #

Hey Ken…. Just wanted to share exciting news! Firstly I got a new comment – from another coach but not one I know! So woohoo! Secondly, I got an email from a prospect this morning through my website woohoo again.. So this does work!

  70. Marcella M Burns June 20, 2016 at 4:28 pm #

First, I bought the book, then I started working through the course. I am very happy with how easy it is to follow the directions and do the steps. Even if I just have short chunks of time, I can usually accomplish something, and if not, I have something to mull over as I go about my business. I am hoping to get my site live by July 4, and it now a true possibility because of this course.

    • Kenn Schroder June 20, 2016 at 5:05 pm #

Good speed so far on the course Marcella. Looking forward to your launch!

  71. Cheri Meyer September 2, 2016 at 11:37 am #

Kenn, I really appreciate all of the emails and the video. You give me a lot to think about in very simple language and I appreciate it.

    • Kenn Schroder September 4, 2016 at 6:25 am #

You’re welcome Cheri. Thanks for posting a comment.

Let’s get your site up quickly, minimal fuss, and get you out there so people can find you, call you and see if you’re right for them.

If you’ve got ideas for how I can deliver more value/learning, please let me know.

  72. Bruce September 4, 2016 at 2:35 am #

HI Ken. Looking to find time in my schedule to complete your course. Need to know what the cost is though ?

    • Kenn Schroder September 4, 2016 at 6:22 am #

Hey Bruce … thanks for asking. I’ll post an update shortly and send an email out. Thanks for asking the obvious 😉

  73. Nicole September 7, 2016 at 7:51 am #

Thank you for the 2 videos! BOOM! I have a draft core message, a vision for my logo, colour theme for my website, a small draft timeline of my life that I would like to use on my site and an overview of my ideal client! WOW, who would have though 2 videos and 2 hours of focus just allowed me to create all of that. Seriously, thank you Kenn!

    • Kenn Schroder September 7, 2016 at 9:19 am #

SWEEET!!! Keep up the momentum! Enrollment is on Friday if you decide to join us for some fun website creation.

  74. Mark Squires September 9, 2016 at 12:22 am #

    Hi Kenn
Been aware and interested in your work for a while – am in the middle of creating my own site. No real pressure on it right now as not currently coaching but looking for a shift back in that direction in the nearish future. Always come away inspired to do it better after one of your videos and/or emails. Cheers M

    • Kenn Schroder September 9, 2016 at 6:15 am #

Thanks for that Mark! Creating is fun. When coaching becomes the focus, I’d love to see your site.

  75. Richard Millman October 4, 2016 at 12:49 pm #

Do you think these methods are applicable to a personal sports coaching and development subscription website?
    thanks,

    Richard

    • Kenn Schroder October 4, 2016 at 6:22 pm #

Hi Richard … without know more about what you’re aiming to do or where you’re at now, I can’t say for sure. If you want to build your own coaching website, grow your list and credibility, and you want to work with people 1on1 AND sell a paid subscription to your following (list, social, groups) which is essentially another “offering”, then yes. But I think you’d need to get your strategy ironed out -> meaning the way your site is going to support your aims.

Mainly this course is geared to the coach who wants clients, wants to build credibility, get online quickly, build their own sites fast on WordPress (or put your designer through this course), and wants a step-by-step instruction with support as you go, and a bit of motivation to get it done quickly 😉

      The question: What’s the strategy?

  76. Sandi Smith October 14, 2016 at 6:23 am #

Have launched my site…after 3 attempts at outsourcing I have finished my website myself and now can update and input text myself which is totally awesome and will save me time and money ! Who doesn’t want to do that! Kenn’s website building course was great! I found his videos really clear and easy to follow step by step. I was able to listen to the video, pause it, complete the instruction and listen again. Over time I got faster and more independent at completing the steps and adding the text. Kenn was very calm and cool when I wasn’t and really held the space for me.. and as life coach’s we all know how priceless that is.I really appreciated the ‘help videos’ Kenn uploaded on Facebook when I needed it. Thanks Kenn for getting me there!

    • Kenn Schroder October 16, 2016 at 8:16 pm #

That’s it! Really glad to be of help. Love the colors you chose and having you press on to the deadline. Fun huh?

  77. Joy Khoo November 20, 2016 at 7:10 pm #

    Hi Ken,
My go live date – I’m shooting for February 10 to be realistic with my travels. I’m looking forward to building this website!

Kenn, your course is THE BEST! I am not a techy person at all – and thank goodness, YOU and your tutorials are there every step of the way. I am amazed at how quickly you respond to my comments on the tutorials and thank you so much for the SKYPE call recently.

I am so thankful for you and all that you do.

I am absolutely LOVING the creation of my website and I look forward to each tutorial.

    All the best,
    Brenda

I have set a launch date of Jan 13 2017. Knowing that what most would say takes 20 minutes to do will take me about an hour per block or more. My goal is also to launch this in between or very close to the beginning of the next two coaching certification classes I am enrolled in

  80. Kofi Hagan January 24, 2017 at 7:14 am #

    Kenn,

I am a 68 years of age and retired. I am extraordinary active. In fact most people think I am in my early fifties.

I have been coaching for the last 7 years with mixed attraction results although my clients are full of wonderful testimonials. I tried getting a website done and failed because I could not raise all the money.

Then I tried creating one myself using WordPress but found it technically challenging. The waiting has been disappointing and frustrating but my inner self urges me to get hit the world and help many to change their lives forever.

Kindly help me with some real encouragement and advise. Also any possibility of making the payment easier either through installment payments over a longer period of time or offering me an abridged but complete version of the course.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Kofi, Kigali-RWANDA

    • Kenn Schroder January 24, 2017 at 5:49 pm #

Way to stay young Kofi! It sounds like you should avoid trying to do it yourself, and find a way to get someone else to do it – pay or barter for it. That gives me an idea => I should have a monthly-pay website service where you just pay monthly and my team builds and manages your site for you.

I'd love to hear from you! Comment below.
