How To Plan The Next Big Update For Your Website

So, things have evolved in your business, and now it’s time to update your website, refresh it, and make it more accurately reflect where you’re at and where you’re going.

Three things that I find super helpful to figure out the updates you need after you’ve got an idea of your goals for your biz …

1. WIREFRAME

That’s a fancy word for “outline.” Sketch out (with boxes and arrows) the content ideas and functionality you’ll need and how it will flow, and lead customers, clients, buyers, and sign-ups to where they need to go.

Make sure it looks like it’ll support the goals you’ve set out for.

2. CONTENT

What content will be needed for all of those pages, emails, profiles, posts, pop-ups, calls-to-action, etc?

Make bullet points and jot down ideas for the written material, videos, and images.

3. NEED A VISUAL DESIGN LIFT?

Sure, get clear about the vibe and the clients you’re after, and the appearance to suit.

But, still, regardless of the visuals, the words/videos still have to speak loudly, clearly, and excitingly to the visitor.

(I suppose the right brave soul will create a website that works with only images and no text. Love to see that!)

SO, IN SUM, IT’S LIKE THIS …

BIZ GOALS <– WIREFRAME <– CONTENT <– VISUALS
